Tactical Pens vs. Writers’ Block

As the growing scarcity of my trusty silver Parker Jotters drives up the price, I’ve been eyeing these tactical pens to replace them. For those who’ve used them—a few questions:

Which do you like best?
Does the ballpoint provide smooth action across the page?
Does the ink hold fast, or does it smudge and blur?
How’s the weight and balance?
Tell me about your experience getting it through airport security. 100% success?

I’m also interested in hearing about use of the tactical side. Smashed any windows, fought off any muggers, collected any DNA? Those would make for stories worth jotting down.

Yikes! Me, I’m opting for the Energel, at (if memory serves) $2.99 for two. It has limited hi-tech extras, and I imagine would be quite hard to put to lethal uses, but it does have the great advantage of doing this writing thing I’ve heard about.

See, I’m trying to avoid the disposables entirely (though even the Parker Jotter doesn’t last forever). But the plastic filling our seas, the bellies of our turtles, it’s all too much to bear. Scribble all you want with your Energels in your fallout shelter, but when the zombies come to chew, you’re gonna wish you carried the Campco Uzi Tactical Pen!

B-b-b-b-but the Energels are recyclable! And with their brightly colored pocket clips they distract zombies a treat!
