Our hearth glows this time of year and an idea hangs from the mantel. The letters cast shadows to suggest the idea is easily disrupted. There is no anagram for peace, and no substitute.

I’ve turned off the news for the rest of the year. The flow of voices from the radio and the stream of text across my screens have grown predictable. Maddening. Contrary to peace.

The headlines suggest turmoil, violence, chaos, war.

For a moment, feel peace. Just Be.

Be at peace.

  2. Beautifully written! The imagery of the hearth, the shadows, and the idea of finding peace amidst the chaos is truly captivating. How do you suggest we disconnect from the constant influx of negative news and find that peaceful moment within ourselves?
