A written account by Charles Bacquet, III published in Peace Corps: The Adventure Continues recounts the time when his ambassadorship to Djibouti came to the attention of villagers where he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Somalia. They seek his support in settling a peace between themselves and rival villages.
The author of Profiles in Service did not get to interview Mr. Bacquet, however a recording of his oral history is available at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
