Well, I did it. In keeping with a commitment I made just before December, I’ve re-engaged the publishing world with my work.
It’s a very small toe in an enormous sea, literally. The submission is a work of flash fiction, 628 words, and part of a series that might make a decent collection. Eventually.

That’s the second part of the commitment last month, to revisit orphaned projects and bring them along, foster their growth, treat them like honest things of value that might contribute to the world.
A third commitment, to post something here every day this month, is also about to reach its apotheosis. I feel good about that, and the time is just right. If I’m going to be submitting more regularly, I won’t have the time or material to post here. Some folks will breathe a sigh of relief at fewer emails jamming their inboxes.
December has been an enormously productive month and a revitalization of my purpose as a writer. I hope others are finding similar wind at their backs, and that it will continue to blow us into and through the new year.
